{"id":800,"date":"2010-03-29T12:36:06","date_gmt":"2010-03-29T17:36:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fredman.org\/blog\/?p=800"},"modified":"2010-03-29T12:18:19","modified_gmt":"2010-03-29T17:18:19","slug":"flawed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fredman.org\/blog\/2010\/03\/29\/flawed","title":{"rendered":"Flawed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am frequently reminded of how flawed I am.\u00a0 \u00a0That\u2019s why I have young children!\u00a0 Even when I do something dumb, they still think I\u2019m the greatest dad in the world.<\/p>\n<p>But all good things come to an end.\u00a0 I crashed into a snow bank in our driveway this winter and broke the bumper of my car. \u00a0Starting a week ago, every time we entered the driveway from a biking excursion or visit to the park, Titus would ask, \u201cWhat happened to your car, Daddy?\u201d, and Sarah or I would respond, \u201cIt has an owie.\u201d Titus would follow that answer with \u201cHow did it get an owie?\u201d, and we\u2019d end up explaining how Daddy isn\u2019t really good at successfully navigating the driveway.<\/p>\n<p>Disappointing my 3 \u00bd year old is hard, but isn\u2019t impossible.\u00a0 He\u2019s a smart little kid, learning how to live in a world where everyone makes mistakes.\u00a0 However, I almost returned my driver\u2019s license to the DMV when Asher walked up to my car this weekend, stuck his little head right up next to the hole in my bumper and said, \u201cDaddy, break!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s rough being flawed\u2026especially when your kids realize it, too!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am frequently reminded of how flawed I am.\u00a0 \u00a0That\u2019s why I have young children!\u00a0 Even when I do something dumb, they still think I\u2019m the greatest dad in the world.
