Halfway There!

Here we are, late into week 20 of the 40 weeks of pregnancy (that’s 4 1/2 months on the 9 month scale)!

Sarah has officially “popped” according to a number of sources, but she still hasn’t had her first visual congratulations. A visual congratulation is when someone looks down, sees that you’re pregnant, and offers congratulations right on the spot! Of course, politeness seems to be the main deterrent to this recognition, but there’s got to be a point where someone must just know they won’t be wrong. I’ll keep you updated on that one.

This is the last week to vote on the main page for whether you think it’s a boy or girl! We’re going in on Thursday for an ultrasound, and will find out (and have pictures for you) at that time.

Amy is so right when she says that she could not find an outfit cute enough for her baby nephew. We looked for baby clothes when we went shopping on Saturday and nothing measured up. I would be quite concerned if Amy was in charge of dressing him, because he wouldn’t have a thing to wear. Since that is not the case, we will not worry. Hopefully she will find SOMETHING to offer the little one in the next 4 months.

I’ll admit – I never voted. Maybe it is my inclination to fear being wrong, or maybe I just have no idea!!! It’s probably the latter. Now we all know that it’s a boy, so I could lie and say that’s what I thought all along, but that wouldn’t be very nice, so I’ll just settle for saying that I never was quite sure. I am, however, quite picky when it comes to picking out baby clothes. Sarah, watch out if you go shopping with me because nothing it cute enough for my little nephew! It either has a funny looking bug or lizard on a perfectly cute shirt, or it’s this full-bodied jumpsuit. Ew!

I remember the first maturnity clothes I bought and was so proud I needed them at 5 months. I stopped at the folks who lived in Orange City at that time to show them. Dad made the comment that I didn’t even need them yet! I was sooo hurt. The fact was I couldn’t gain weight either because of morning sickness lasting much of the day so gained a total of 10 lbs. in 8 months at the time of Tammy’s birth. He was probably right in his observation.
