I was walking through the yard with the boys when Asher noticed a big Royal Red maple leaf on the ground. He said, “Why is the tree broken, Daddy?”
I gave a full two-minute answer that included leaves changing colors, being fun to jump in, and winter. Maybe I should’ve just stuck with “because they tree is cold”!
I like this method. However, I usually use it when Oliver is being uncooperative and I’m trying to explain all the reasons why he should be cooperative. Sometimes it confuses (or maybe gets him bored) enough that he complies.
