After a month of no new posts, and much harassment by friends and family, I’m getting back to the blog! Truth be told, there hasn’t been a whole lot of news lately, which is good news. Sarah’s done some tests, and had a couple of appointments. Everything is “normal” and “good”, including the baby’s size, Sarah’s size, and the gestational diabetes test.
Sarah even managed to give a bit more blood this time, which is always a sketchy prospect!
The baby continues to kick frequently (and yes, I’ve been able to feel him), sometimes so hard that you can see the kicks! Our book says that it is likely the kicks will start turning into “pushes” since the baby is going to start running out of room soon.
Sarah continues to grow. She’s eagerly awaiting the day her belly button pops out, so she can become an “outie”, even if only for a month or two (I told you I was low on news)!
Ooohhh – I have a lot to say for this blog! Even though I haven’t been on in awhile (sorry, guys), I now have more good stuff built up. Anyway, I was granted the incredible priviledge of feeling a baby kick – the first in my lifetime. I told Sarah that if she felt him kick, she had to give me a holler. Well, it didn’t actually come out as a holler, but she did use an elevated voice to call me from my enthralling egg-decorating with Paul. I sprinted a one second ten yarder (I know, the NFL should totally recruit me) and abruptly stopped at the chair where Sarah’s stomach was sticking out oh-so-cutely. And I FELT THE BABY KICK!!!!!!!! It was, for lack of a better non-teenage word, AWESOME. When I got back to school on Monday, I bragged to a few of my friends about the baby-kicking extravaganza, and they feigned interest. The best response was however, when I was out throwing during track practice. I told the big, big guys about this (I know, what response would this crowd have), but one of them actually had something to say, sentimental or not. “Huh,” he grunted. “I love how girls think it’s so cute when a baby kicks when they’re in the stomach, but when they get to be two and they start kicking, it’s not so adorable anyone.” Well, that’s one way of looking at it.
On to the second part of the blog, Sarah is sporting a rather fine outie, one that I was hoping would show up eventually. I told her she should show that off a little more, but she didn’t seem to agree. . .
ToooooooCute!!!!
It’s about time that you posted a new update to your blog. Now I’ll stop bugging you about updating the blog (at least until next month) and you can stop bugging me about never posting a comment.
It’s good to hear that lil’ Fredman is quite the kicker already. With his seemingly natural athletic ability, he will be ready for the broomball court in no time. West McNair can always use a couple ringers.
