Titus is becoming quite a storyteller. He always offers a unique, concise, and typically descriptive take on things. I’ve included a few of his better stories below, along with translation and background information when necessary.
“Up-dair…pshhhhh!” (while running his hand down his face)
Translation: I was walking down the stairs, fell, and got a rug burn on my face as I slid down.
“Teh-tus bade, boom! Lar…”
Translation: I fell out of bed, boom! Onto the floor.
“Mah-mah, wa-ter, [cough, cough]!” (sticking his tongue out while coughing)
Translation: Mom threw up, and it looked like water.
I think Sarah really likes it when Titus tells that last story. I’m just glad that when I had the flu, I was throwing up in the middle of the night. That way, Titus wasn’t standing right next to me watching with rapt attention as I lost my supper!
I’m fairly certain that I have the cutest nephew ever. (Well, the other nephews are super cute too, Titus is currently the best talking one) These are hilarious stories!!!! Does he still tell the stairs one frequently or is he kind of moved on to more current things like Mama’s “water” exhibition?
I have a Titus story to tell as well. This past Friday, Gary and I completed our first week of school. A surprise was waiting for us when we got home from school We listened to our voice mail. A small little voice was talking about “Grandma and Grandpa”. Titus had switched from calling Gary and I “Apa” and “Ama” to “Grandpa” and “Grandma”. I’m going to miss being “Ama” but “Grandma” sounds oh so good too!
Like most of us, a story is only good for about a week before it becomes old news. His newest story is “Doctor, no monkeys a-bed”, which is right from one of his books, “5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed”!
