Sometimes you read a story and don’t really believe it’s true. Sometimes you can see exactly how it would play out.
The other night, Sarah woke up around 1:30 with Asher standing in the doorway. Asher said, “Daddy said ‘come here Asher!'” Sarah looked at me, dead asleep, and told Asher to go back to bed.
When Sarah told me this story the next morning, I thought she should have given Asher different instructions. Maybe she should have instructed him to respond with “speak Lord, I’m listening.” But then again, it took Eli three sleep interruptions to figure it out!
That would have been quick thinking on Sarah’s part! Asher is lucky I’m not his mom or I probably would have thought he was an intruder and responded accordingly.
