Parenting Techniques

It was rest time yesterday, Titus had picked out ten books and was headed to the basement for his “rest”.   Then he turned to Sarah and me to start negotiating where he could take his rest with the policy that “I should be able to choose where I rest”.  Sarah told him that he does get to choose.  He could sleep in his bed or rest with books downstairs!

Titus looked at us like we were a little on the crazy side, said “tssss”, and headed downstairs.

I don’t know how much longer we’ll get away with that technique!

He keeps you on your toes! Oliver has gotten into the habit of saying things under his breath when he disagrees with his choices. For example he wanted to try some of the juice I brought home and I gave him a small glass. Then he wanted to try some of the juice from an unopened bottle. I said “you can either have a little bit more from this opened bottle or nothing.” Under his breath and scowling he says, “I just want to try this juice,” looks up and me and says “I would like a little bit more of that juice.” Contrary Larry!
