A horse named horse

I asked Zekey what his horse was named.  He replied “horse”.  This little guy doesn’t mess around!

Grown-Up

Titus asked, “Why do I need to know how to patch walls?”

I answered, “When you’re a grown-up, if you have kids, you’ll need to fix the holes they make in the walls.”

Fortunately he didn’t follow that up with a question about why I was having him patch his own holes.  He was having too much fun playing with mud in the house!

Triple Whammy

I took Titus, Asher, and Zeke in for a triple doctors appointment tonight.  I don’t think there was ever a faster throughput!  I filled out paperwork for one while checking in the next; had shoes flying off in all directions around the scale; and the doctor even asked for a volunteer on who wanted to go first!

I’m pretty sure I got all the birthdays, allergies, names, and symptoms all straight…

Proud Parenting Moment?

Asher came home from school last Monday and announced that he was the first to answer a question correctly in class.  I smiled to think of Asher raising his hand to answer the question.  Then he gave me all the credit for teaching him the answer–so all of those carefully placed impromptu academic lessons I’ve given are working!  Then Asher finally ended the suspense and brought me down a notch or two.  It turns out his teacher was asking if anyone knew the meaning of the name of the 5K race she (and Sarah and I) had run over the weekend.  The race was called “Freeze your Buns Run”.

Long story short, I taught Asher to answer a school question with the word “butt”.
