The boys busy setting up the tent yesterday. Camping in October!

We had to get rid of the yard of concrete that used to be our front step. Little did we know that a trip to Barton’s would be such a highlight!
I guess watching a hundred pound block of concrete bounce three stories down and crash into a heap at the bottom is pretty fun 🙂
Sometimes you read a story and don’t really believe it’s true. Sometimes you can see exactly how it would play out.
The other night, Sarah woke up around 1:30 with Asher standing in the doorway. Asher said, “Daddy said ‘come here Asher!'” Sarah looked at me, dead asleep, and told Asher to go back to bed.
When Sarah told me this story the next morning, I thought she should have given Asher different instructions. Maybe she should have instructed him to respond with “speak Lord, I’m listening.” But then again, it took Eli three sleep interruptions to figure it out!
Tonight Asher offered to pray our bedtime prayer. It went something like this:
Dear God,
Sank you for Daddy, and Mommy, and Zeke, and me, and Titus.
Sank you so we could go to sleep.
Sank you so we could eat.
Sank you so we could put on our jammies.
Sank you so we could go to Home Depot.
Sank you so we could play cars.
Sank you so we could play ramp.
Sank you so we could read books.
Sank you for Mommy’s hair.
Sank you for Daddy’s hair.
Sank you for Titus’ hair.
Sank you for Mae’s hair. (Mae comes to play with the boys every once in a while).
Sank you for Mae’s guys’ hair (Mae’s brother is Owen. Asher met him…once.)
Sank you for Mommy’s hair.
Sank you for Mae’s hair.
Sank you for Zeke’s hair.
Sank for for we can GIVE HIGH FIVES!
SANK YOU SO WE CAN GIVE KNUCKLES!
<Asher bouncing on the bed>
SANK YOU SO WE CAN GIVE KNUCKLES!
SANK YOU SO WE CAN GIVE KNUCKLES!
<me> Amen
<Asher> AMEN!
That’s a pretty thankful little boy! I’m just waiting for Pastor Scott to start jumping up and down and yelling at the end of a prayer like that!
