All About the Kids

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers today!  Asher’s tubes are in his ears and he did amazing!  Seriously, for not having eaten solids since last night at 7:30 and going without nursing from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm today, he was quite the trooper!!  He didn’t cry at all before the surgery and fell asleep in my arms before they came to give him the anethestic.  He fussed a little when he woke up in a new room with unknown people but settled right in once they brought him back to Mommy and Daddy =)  The doctor said that he is so glad that we did this because Asher’s ears were full of fluid that was a jello like consistency and it went so far back that he is certain that is what was impairing his hearing.  At any rate, it’s done now and he’s sleeping and hopefully will be back to his normal active and talkative self soon!

Tomorrow is the day we go in to Children’s Hospital to have Asher’s tubes put in his ears!  His surgery is scheduled for 1:15 and one of the things I’m dreading most is the fact that he can’t eat for so many hours before it…not Asher’s favorite thing either I’m sure!  We’ll keep you posted how it goes.
