All About the Kids

One area that I am certain I will blog about often is the many things that I was just not fully prepared for in becoming a mother.  Some of those things are more serious like the sometimes lonliness that stay-at-home moms face or the sheer force of fear you have when your baby gets sick for the first time.  But today I just want to share a more lighthearted one…my constant audience!  This picture is taken from inside the bathroom and is by no means a first time experience.  Whether I have to go to the bathroom, take a shower, do my hair or makeup or whatever else may necessitate the use of the bathroom, I inevitably have an audience!  I knew this would happen to a certain extent but was definitely not prepared for the full time audience that would accompany me in every single task of my day =)

Oh how I love naptime!!!!  Seriously, I love playing, running, singing, painting and so much more with my children but when naptime arrives, I love it, I love it, I love it!  This has been a tough week for naps in the Fredman house.  Titus is at the stage where naps are “optional” to him and we went three out of the last four days without one and even though he still does fine and remains in a good mood for the most part, Mommy struggles and has been grieving over loosing precious “me” time to get everything else done.  Asher has had a rough week as he continues to battle ear infections (this is over six weeks now) as well as cutting three new teeth and so sleep has been slightly more elusive for him as well.  Anyhow, they are now both sleeping for the time being and I am rejoicing!

Today we did a little painting at our house!  Titus did some potato shape painting and enjoyed practicing his shapes and colors as well as the very important skill of keeping the paint on the paper =)  Asher worked on a finger painting project and absolutely loved the feeling of the oozing paint between his fingers =)  Asher also was a bit tempted to taste the paint if I turned my head for too long but Titus kept him in line most of the time!  Anyhow, just thought I’d share our activity of the day with you all.

Today we had a really fun field trip!  We went to see the play Goodnight Moon at the Stages Theatre in Hopkins.  It was fabulous!  It was an hour long show and Titus sat absolutely mesmerized for the first 45 minutes…which for those of you who know Titus is a feat in and of itself =)  Even Asher seemed quite enthralled with the show.  Anyhow, just wanted to recommend it to all of you Cities dwellers as an outing well worth your time and money!  And if you have any questions about it, Titus will gladly tell you all about the cow jumping over the moon and the red balloon and the quiet old lady whispering hush and even the bowl full of mush!  So, goodnight everyone!
