The things they say…

It seems that it has been a week full of funny little saying from Titus…maybe that’s just how it goes with a two year old!

One of my favorite things was that last night Titus was finishing his dinner while Andy was working on getting the knots out of my neck and shoulders.  I love when Andy does this and even though I grimace a little it feels so much better when he’s done but in the middle of it Titus looked over at me with such concern in his eyes and said to Andy “Don’t do that Daddy!”  Sweet little boy was truly concerned about why Daddy was causing pain to Mommy =)  Not to worry, he is now convinced that it’s a good thing and that he would like a little neck massage too!

Here’s another one I like:

Andy:  Titus, are you in trouble?

Titus:  Ummm….not yet?!

The other funny thing that he does is that whenever he coughs, he looks at me promptly and says “I’m okay Mommy!”  I guess he figures that I’m pretty worried about him =)

Anyhow, just thought I’d share…hope everyone has a good weekend!

Cuddle Time

This is just a random picture I took of the two boys one morning last week.  If Asher is up first and goes with me to greet Titus in the morning, Titus immediately asks for Asher to join him in bed for “cuddles.”  It is so precious!

An Eventful Day

Today was quite a day!  This morning we skipped church (rebels that we are) and Andy and I ran a 5K…the “Freeze Your Buns 5K Run” to be exact!  It was a lot of fun and put on by the Hamel Lions, which meant that there was a fabulous pancake breakfast following the race that we all enjoyed very much.  You will notice the picture of Andy and I in our new cool long sleeves t-shirts…really, they are the best 5K shirts I’ve seen in quite a while =)  Then this evening some good friends of ours came over for dinner and some Superbowl watching.  They have a 10 month old, Blake and both Titus and Asher enjoyed playing with him.  Well, they enjoyed playing with him until Titus proceeded to throw up all over me and the couch…yucky!   I’m not sure yet if it’s something he ate or a flu bug or what but the poor little boy was having such a rough time understanding why he “burped” all over the place!  Anyhow, hopefully I’ll have good news to report on that front tomorrow.  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

He’s Not the Babysitter!

Yes, I know that all of you who read this are most interested in the interesting antics of my children but I do have a life beyond my children you know =)  So today you get to hear my partial rant about people who figure that when the husband/dad spends time with the children while the wife/mom is not present, that he is babysitting…are you serious?!  How does that work?  I mean, really a Dad is NOT a babysitter!  Truly, I say that in the nicest sense possible.  I love my husband dearly and I really enjoy watching how much he loves our boys!!  This week I was gone a number of evenings in a row and therefore, Andy got quite a bit of guy time with our boys!  I just have to say how very much I appreciate him!  He may not be a  babysitter but he really makes my life so enjoyable…he encourages me to get out of the house after a long day with a sick baby or whining two year old…he encourages me to keep friendships with other girls…he encourages me to do fun things like see chic flicks and go shopping!  Overall, I am so blessed to have such a great husband who also happens to be a fabulous daddy!  Thanks Andy!

Unusual Kiddo

img_6057

I really don’t like to use this blog as a place for extreme bragging but I have to make a quick exception =)  I am so lucky to have one of the few non-picky eating two year olds!  Seriously, this kid loves his vegetables and so far there is only one food on record that he strongly dislikes and you will never guess what it is…mashed potatoes…yup, you heard that right…the only food he dislikes is mashed potatoes!  I honestly think that they are two bland for his taste…crazy kiddo!  Anyhow, I know this is not common and I’m not expecting it with all our kids but for now I am feeling quite lucky to have a carrot lover to feed!
