Spring time yet??

Yesterday Andy took Titus outside with him while he shoveled the driveway after our latest snow….oh joy!  Titus brought his toy lawn mower out with him and mowed the grass instead =)  I think he’s as ready for spring as the rest of us!  Today the two of them went to Menards and Andy let Titus pick a shovel so that next time the snow came Titus could help shovel.  Titus picked the hot pink one =)  Yes, that’s his favorite color!

And for some Asher news…he is right now sharing a grapefruit with Andy…yes, I mean the real sour kind of grapefruit…and he loves it!  Crazy kiddo =)

Reunited!

After four days at Nana and Papa’s house, Titus came back home on Thursday and he and Asher are SO happy to be together again!  One of the many things that neither of them enjoy as much without the other is bathtime so today they had a blast splashing and playing in the bath!  Andy and I are happy to have Titus back too…although it’s not so quiet when he’s gone (Asher seriously fills the gap of talking!), we really do miss him and I realize how much he really helps out already when I have to do things like go get Asher’s diapers myself, entertain Asher myself, read Asher stories myself, etc.  =)  Anyhow, hope everyone is having a good weekend!

It doesn’t get much better!

Ahhh…my baby is saying mama =)  Okay, so sometimes it isn’t related to me at all but when he awoke from his nap I came in the door and the first thing he said was “mama”…yea!!!!  Dada has been used for a while so I figured (as did Titus) that it was my turn!  Another momentous thing happened just now as I was typing…he pulled himself up on his toy basket (a frequent event) and took several steps around it to get to the other side (a very new event!)!  I can’t believe we’re already at this stage…where have the last nine months gone?!

9 Months!

Well, Saturday was Asher’s nine month birthday and today he had his checkup at the doctor.  Here are the current stats:

Length:  32 inches (>97%)

Weight:  24 pounds (90-95%)

I always like to compare that to Titus at that age and Titus was 30 1/2 inches and 25 lbs., 4 oz..  Fun to think how they may look so alike or differnt in the years to come =)  Besides another ear infection, everything looked good and we are excited to start some more new foods.  Asher is about done tolerating mashed baby foods and would much rather feed himself finger foods so that is fun!  We are having a quiet week here while Titus is at Nana and Papa’s house for a few days.  Asher looks around saying “braba” (brother) and clearly misses his best bud but it is fun to have some one on one time with him and Titus is definitely enjoying his attention at Nana and Papa’s =)  And here’s a picture of Asher’s mischevious grin =)

“So nice of her…”

Auntie Alyssa is so talented!  Last fall she made a fabulous sweater for Titus and everytime he sees it he says “Auntie Alyssa made that for me…so nice of her.”  Well, now Auntie Alyssa is even more nice…she has made a fabulous sweater for Asher!!  They look so cute in their sweaters and they are truly amazing workmanship =)  Thanks Auntie Alyssa!
