I must be a mama!

This morning we were at Preschool Playtime at the community center.  Asher and Titus were on a toy where they both sit and then I spin them around as fast as I can.  They were really enjoying it and because there was no line, they stayed on it for quite a while.  When it was finally time to go, I stopped the spinning.  Asher immediately grabbed his ear (sign that something is wrong) and said in his most pathetic voice, “Mommy….”  I picked him up and he promptly threw up all over me!!  I realized later that I must be used to this mama role because I am quite proud of my composure through the whole experience and never once did I find myself gagging at the mass of vomit covering all of myself and Asher (who was clinging to me for dear life)!  Let’s just say that that never would have happened like that 4 years ago!  On the plus side, I think my reward for the experience was that later this afternoon Asher was cuddling on my lap and fell asleep in my arms (definitely not a usual occurence!!)  It was the highlight of my day for sure =)

So three things… 1. I love that Asher grabs his ear when something is wrong…it’s just such a funny way of letting you know! 2. That does sound like a fun little game, but gross!! What was Titus’ reaction? 3. I am SOOO not ready to be a mommy! I’m glad to know that 4 years can build up endurance for having throw up all over…because I would have been the very opposite of calm, cool, and collected! Maybe once I have kids, until I get a little used to it, you can take care of the throw up part for me? 😉 Because that would be great, sister dear…

Okay Amy, Titus hardly batted an eye and was too busy helping clean up the toys to be too concerned. As for a “throw up endurance,” I think you will do just fine when the time comes but if you do need a hand, I would love to help clean up after my little niece or nephew =)

So sad for little Asher – getting so sick. THREE CHEERS for mom who handled it SO well!!! Do you think Asher inherited the ‘motion sickness gene’ from his mom? That was an abrupt end to lots of fun.
