Tractor Noises

Titus has been making all sorts of new noises lately, including the “two tone” (two notes in succession) and the “slider” (slide from one note to another). But my favorite noise to date happened last night while we were on a walk last night, he started making tractor sounds! Probably the funniest thing about this development is that Sarah has a bugger of a time making that noise herself…

Hit me with your Best Shot

Titus had his 2 month doctor’s appointment yesterday, complete with 4 immunization shots!  Sarah had to hold his elbows while 2 nurses each stuck two shots in each thigh.  Doesn’t sound fun to me!  Sarah said that Titus turned bright red and started wailing pretty heartily until she picked him up, and then he acted like nothing happened.  It’s funny how slowly babies respond to pain, I suppose because they aren’t anticipating it.  It’s also funny how well they recover, I suppose because the pain has decreased so significantly in their mind.

His latest numbers are 14 lbs, 25″ tall, with a 17″ head diameter.  You know, babies’ heads have always looked pretty big to me, especially compared to adults, but I figured it was because their heads didn’t grow as fast as the rest of them.  Evidentially that is not the case…I think Titus’s head started out at around 13″, which means it has increased in size by 30% since he’s been born!  Compare that to height (9% increase), and weight (22% increase), and the little guy’s head is just growing like a watermelon!

New Pictures!

249

There’s a new batch of pictures of Titus at 2 months in the photo gallery! I’ll probably work on getting some of the intermediate ages (between 2 weeks and 2 months) here in the near future as well.

A Little Rest

Earlier this evening, Sarah looked over at me and said, “Why do I feel tired? I got a good night’s sleep last night.” I thought aloud, one good night of sleep doesn’t exactly make up for 8 weeks of not-so-good sleep!

For the first time in what seems like ages, but really is only about 2 weeks, Titus went to sleep after every feeding last night. Impressive, isn’t it? He’s been having a bit of a hard time being left alone lately, which isn’t so bad during the day, but results in hourly walks at night.

I have it slightly easier than Sarah, since I possess the talent of falling asleep with the little guy balanced precariously on my chest (the way I slept for half the weekend), but it still isn’t exactly the best way to be well-rested, even for me!

He’s sleeping right now–which is hopefully a harbinger of the rest of the night…as long as I can make it back to the bedroom without stepping on a squeaky floorboard…

Same Time, Same Place, Different Face!

Greetings!

fredman.org has been undergoing huge changes right before your eyes in the past week. That’s right, we switched web hosting services (I can hear the applause of approval)!

Why? Because we ran out of space and couldn’t post any more pictures of Titus with our old host (ok, so now I hear the applause).

Since the whole site had to be transferred, I figured I’d try and make it a little better in the process, so now the blog and photo gallery are somewhat connected. You may see a few visual changes as I mess with the color and format, but I will continue to post updates, and you can continue to harass me to put up more pictures.

…who knows, you might even see a post or two from Sarah (gasp!)…
