Uff da!

I know, I know, it’s been too long since my last post.  Let me just say that is has been quite a week (or two)!  Here are the excuses for why I have not posted:

*Titus and I have both battled (and pretty much won now) cold and sore throat sorts of sickness.

*Asher woke up Monday morning gasping for air and it turns out he has croup…treated with some hefty steroid treatment!  He’s almost better now.

*Andy was out of town for five days with work in California! (And I don’t do so well when he’s gone =) )

*Birthday season – October is birthday bonanza month for both families and we have had some fun celebrations and have missed some fun celebrations with sickness.

*Adrianna – She was here for a week and in between sick times we enjoyed a Birthday party with her as well as a fun cousin time of pictures and Build a Bear!  By the way, Asher was the biggest fan of Build a Bear and ran around the place shouting “bear, bear, bear” like someone with way too much sugar =)

Okay, I think that will do for excuses for now!  I would say that I’ll do better now but tonight the boys are off to spend a couple days with Grandpa and Grandma in Pillager (something Titus has been counting the day until for weeks!) and then this weekend I am having both my moms and Alyssa over for a ladies crafting weekend so unless you’d like updates on how the scrap booking and quilting projects are coming, I guess you’ll have to wait until next week  =)  Here are a few pictures to get you by until then:

Big Toe

The other night, Sarah was sitting on the recliner with the footrest up, reading a book to Titus. Asher grabbed a book and started climbing up the footrest to join the fun.

Asher had two hands and one knee wedged into various places on the footrest when he got stuck. Being the resourceful toddler that he is, he looked around and found that Titus’ foot was very close by. Then Asher used the only unoccupied climbing tool he could think of, his teeth, to grab Titus’ big toe so he could swing his second leg up on the footrest!

Titus didn’t appreciate it too much!

Princess Cake

Tomorrow my niece Adrianna will be here…yipee!!  We haven’t seen her since Christmas and everyone (especially Titus) is super excited to see her!  We are going to celebrate her 4th birthday and so I decided to try my hand at a girly cake =)  Here is the princess cake:

Starving Children

Seriously, you would think that I never feed my children!  I remember my Grandma saying “eat everything on your plate…there are starving children in Africa.”  Although I don’t agree with a few aspects of that phrase I can say that I have never been even tempted to say that to my children…no troubles eating too little here!  Yesterday I was helping Titus go to the bathroom and came out to the kitchen to find Asher nibbling on some cantaloupe rinds…out of the garbage.  And yes, there were a few things he dug through to get to the rinds…ish!!  Then today Titus was taking a long time to get into the van and I found out the reason was that he was scavenging the leftover craisins Asher had dropped into the crevices of his carseat and of course eating them himself.  Luckily the craisin snack had occured today and so I wasn’t as concerned as I have been when I catch him eating a snack remnant that I can’t remember even having in the car.  Oof, maybe not a proud mommy moment but my children are certainly not starving!

Opinionated

Sarah was trying on some winter clothes this evening, and getting Titus’ and my opinions on them. Titus had been very supportive of everything she had tried on for the first 10 minutes, but when Sarah asked us what we thought of the latest sweater, Titus pronounced:

“Whoa, that’s not cool. I don’t like that one. You better try it off.”

Of course, he’s much better than his dad at recovering from these sorts of mistakes. After Sarah asked him again, he said:

“It’s good. That’s my favorite.”
