First Family Movie Night

Andy will tell you that one thing I have been looking forward to since having kids is to do a family movie night.  Some of my favorite memories as a kid are about our Sunday night tradition of watching a Disney movie, eating popcorn and just being together as a family.  Yesterday we pretty much stayed in all day because both boys already have their first colds of the year and we were needing something fun and different to do come supper time.  So, last night we decided to give it a try.  We got our jammies on, rolled up the rug in the living room, got our snacky dinner food ready and put in an Elmo movie and it was a blast!  Titus just kept repeating throughout the whole movie “This is so much fun!!”

WWF

Tonight Asher took a baby doll, held it over his head with two hands, walked across the living room, threw the doll on the ground, then carefully turned around and sat directly on its head.

Sarah’s comment: “Looks like we should wait a little while longer before having another baby.”

I never expected…

My ponderings of the day:

*I never expected I could sit on the floor and play for hours and still feel exhausted at the end of the day.

*I never expected something as simple as making dinner to be so challenging some days.

*I never expected to be so excited to hear my baby say “mama.”

*I never expected to be SO tired!

*I never expected that the hour before Andy got home from work could take so very long.

*I never expected that I could be with someone all day and still feel lonely sometimes.

*I never expected that I would be so excited to see a two year old’s look of pride from riding his trike up a hill.

*I never expected that I would sometimes not take a shower until after noon (or maybe not at all).

*I never expected I would love to mow the lawn so much…because it’s my quiet, alone time outside.

*I never expected I had it in my to not get sick to my stomach while changing a particularly explosive diaper or after getting thrown up on.

*I never expected I could love my husband more just by watching him be Daddy!

*I never expected nap time would be so sacred!

*I never expected that sometimes I would let my child cry through Target because I wasn’t going to give in to the demand and I really needed to finish my shopping.

*I never expected that sometimes I would just give in to my whining child’s demand to keep them quiet in Target.

*I never expected that some days the only time my house is picked up is before we even wake up.

*I never expected that I would care so much about vegetable consumption.

*I never expected that I would not freak out when my child eats the days old cheerio out of the sweeping pile.

*I never expected that I would fear so many things happening to my kids.

*I never expected to feel so much…of everything!

I think I’m being punished!!

Is it really possible that my 1 year old could give up his morning nap and my 3 year old could give up his afternoon nap (his only nap, that is) in the same week?!?!  Whoa is me!!

Reading to Baby Noah & The Reason I Blog

IMG_9267

This is just a picture I liked today of Titus reading Thomas the Train to his doll, Baby Noah =)

Sometimes I wonder what you as my readers are hoping for as you look at our blog.  Some of you likely wish there was more or less pictures, videos, cute stories, stuff about Andy and I, ponderings, etc.  I’ve been thinking lately about the reason that I blog and as it was said in another blog that I read, I think the answer is that I blog as a way of keeping track of our life!  I am amazed at how fast life goes by with two small children at home and so for me, blogging is my way of putting in writing or pictures some of the little memories that happen in our daily journey.  Most of them are fairly routine but I love the idea of looking back at this in 20 years and having so many memories to dwell on.  The other reason I blog is because I love getting comments =)  That being said, I am always open to hearing what you want more or less and your thoughts on what’s here. Anyhow, that’s my random thought of the day.
