All About the Kids

Over Thanksgiving, Titus had his second food…sweet potatoes! Since we just threw a whole potato onto his high chair tray and told him to “dig in”…I’m not entirely sure if he enjoyed them more than the rice cereal. In fact, Sarah made me take a couple of Titus smiling “while he ate”, but really they were taken after he was all done eating! Still, there’s hope that he’ll be able to go in to his 6 month appointment (this week) having actually liked a food. Of course, if he hasn’t exactly taken to it by then, we can get some advice from the doctor.

Oh, and by the way, we actually mashed up the sweet potatoes before giving them to him (unlike the picture shows)!

Well, I was threatened into posting these pictures “before November”, so it looks like I made it with a couple hours to spare!

We spent the evening running the “flashlight search” at church, where a bunch of kids ran around with flashlights in a dark room, looking for stuffed animals! Believe it or not, everyone made it out of that room ok by the end of the night, and it was quite a bit of fun. Even Titus enjoyed watching all the costumed kids fly by! One of my favorites was two brothers dressed as Brett Favre and Brad Johnson (Rival Packers and Vikings quarterbacks, for those who aren’t especially football inclined).

Titus had his first experience with food tonight! It was quite a bit of fun…for his parents, at least. Actually, he did manage to get some of the rice cereal down. At least, we emptied half the bowl, and I think there was less than a half-bowl of cereal on his face when we were done!

Last night, Sarah and I were busting out the next round of toys for Titus, trying to find something good for him to chew on (it doesn’t seem like he’s teething, but the little guy is a regular geyser of drool), and we pulled out some big soft cloth blocks.
